Replace UA Tools > VoiceThread Link in D2L Navbar

It may be necessary to change where the UA Tools > VoiceThread link redirects to in VoiceThread. A common issue is accidentally setting the UA Tools > VoiceThread option to lead to an Assignment Builder Assignment. This is usually not recommended as it can cause confusion when a student is looking for the link to the Assignment. If you would like to change the destination of the UA Tools > VoiceThread option, please watch the video below or follow the subsequent steps.

Step 1

Navigate to the D2L Course.

Step 2

Select the Actions for Navbar menu.

Step 3

Select Customize This Navbar or Edit This Navbar.

Note

The Customize This Navbar option changes to Edit This Navbar after the first time the Navbar has been customized and a copy has been created.

At the Create a Copy? prompt, select Yes! I'll work with a copy of the navbar.

Step 4

Select the UA Tools button.

Step 5

From the Links menu, select Remove VoiceThread.

Step 6

Select Create Link.

Step 7

In the name field, type VoiceThread.

Step 8

Select Insert Quicklink.

Step 9

From the Third Party menu, select VoiceThread.

Step 10

Select an activity type.

Assignment Builder (not recommended)
Individual VoiceThread (not recommended)
Course View (generally recommended)
VT Home Page (generally recommended)

Step 11

In the Activity name field, type VoiceThread.

Step 12

Select Publish.

Step 13

Select Create.

Step 14

Select Save.

Step 15

Select Save and Close.
