Organize and Manage the Grade Book

Edit Grade Categories 

Step 1

Select Grades from the Navbar.

Step 2

Verify you are on the Manage Grades view. 

Step 3

Select the name of the Category you want to edit. 

Step 4

Make the desired changes.

Step 5

Select Save and Close.

Edit Grade Items 

Step 1

Select Grades from the Navbar.

Step 2

Verify you are on the Manage Grades view. 

Step 3

Select the name of the Grade Item you want to edit. 

Step 4

Make the desired changes.

Step 5

Select Save and Close.

Delete Grade Categories

Step 1

Select Grades from the Navbar.

Step 2

Verify you are on the Manage Grades view. 

Step 3

Select the More Actions button, then choose Delete

Step 4

Using the checkbox to the left of the Category, select the Category or Categories you want to delete.

Step 5

Select Delete.

Step 6

Confirm you want to delete the items.

Note

If you delete a Category that contains Grade Items, the items will not be deleted unless you select them. Be aware, Grade Categories cannot be restored.

Delete Grade Items

Step 1

Select Grades from the Navbar.

Step 2

Verify you are on the Manage Grades view. 

Step 3

Select the More Actions button, then choose Delete

Step 4

Using the checkbox to the left of the Grade Item(s), select item(s) you want to delete.

Note

Grade Items can only be deleted if they are not associated to an activity. To delete a Grade Item associated with an activity, return to the activity and either delete it or select the Not in Grade Book option from within the Grade Out Of area in the builder interface.

Step 5

Select Delete.

Step 6

Confirm you want to delete the items.

Note

You can recover deleted Grade Items by selecting the More Actions button, then choose View Event Log, and select Restore.

Reorder Grade Categories

Step 1

Select Grades from the Navbar.

Step 2

Verify you are on the Manage Grades view.

Step 3

Select the More Actions button, then choose Reorder.  

Step 4

Reorder Categories by changing the numbers in the Sort Order column.

Step 5

Select Save and Close.

Reorder Grade Items

Step 1

Select Grades from the Navbar.

Step 2

Verify you are on the Manage Grades view.

Step 3

Select the More Actions button, then choose Reorder.  

Step 4

Reorder Grade Items by changing the numbers in the Sort Order column. 

Step 5

Select Save and Close.

Bulk Edit Gradebook

Step 1

Select Grades from the Navbar.

Step 2

Verify you are on the Manage Grades view.

Step 3

Select the Grade Categories and Grade Items you wish to bulk edit by selecting the checkbox to the left of each item. 

Step 4

Scroll up and select the Bulk Edit option found directly above the full list of Grade Categories and Grade Items. 

Step 5

Make the desired changes.

Step 6

Select Save and Close.

Export Gradebook

Step 1

Select Grades.

Step 2

Select the Enter Grades tab located top left, next to the Manage Grades tab.

Step 3

Select the Export button (top left).

Step 4

Use the Export Grade Items For filter to export grades for a specific section or group of students. 

Step 5

In the Key Field area, verify that Username is selected. If manually importing to UAccess, verify that Org Defined ID is selected.

Step 6

Using the corresponding checkboxes, select any other User Details you want to export.

Step 7

In the Choose Grades to Export area, select the Grade Item(s) you want to export. By default, all are selected. Unselect any Grade Item(S) that you do not want to export.

Step 8

Select either Export to CSV or Export to Excel, depending on your preferred format. 

Step 9

When the export is complete, select Download

Step 10

Save the file to your computer or open it in your preferred application.
