Determine How Grades Display

Control How Instructors View Grades

Step 1

Select Grades from the course Navbar.

Step 2

Select Settings (top right, wheel icon).

Step 3

On the Personal Display Options tab, locate the Grade Details area.

Step 4

Select the desired combination of the following choices: Points, Grade Symbol, and Grade Scheme Color.

Note

Points grade must be selected in order for Bonus points to display in Grades.

Step 5

Select Save.

Step 6

Select Close.

Control How Students View Grades

Step 1

Select Grades from the course Navbar.

Step 2

Select Settings (top right, gear icon).

Step 3

Select the Class Display Options tab.

Step 4

In the Grade Details area, select the desired combination of the following choices: Points, Grade Symbol, and Grade Scheme Color.

Note

Grade scheme symbol must be selected in order to import Grades into UAccess. Grade scheme symbol must also be selected in order for students to view Text Grade Items.

Step 5

Select Save.

Step 6

Select Close.

View Grades as a Student

Step 1

Select Grades from the course Navbar.

Step 2

Select the Enter Grades tab located top left, next to the Manage Grades tab.

Step 3

Locate the student for which you want to view grades. Then, select the Actions Menu icon to the right of the student name.

Step 4

Select Preview

Step 5

The Preview option provides the selected student’s view of their grades when they select Grades from the course Navbar. To end the Preview, close the dialog box.

Allow Students to View Current Cumulative Grade

Step 1

Select Grades from the course Navbar.

Step 2

Select Settings (top right, gear icon).

Step 3

Select the Calculation Options tab.

Step 4

Scroll down to the Final Grade Released area, and select Calculated Final Grade.

Note

The phrase, Calculated Final Grade is not a final grade. Instead it refers to the current, cumulative grade.

Note

The Calculated Final Grade is typically released during the semester to show cumulative grades. The Adjusted Final Grade is typically released at the end of the semester when rounding or curving will be applied.

Step 5

Select Save.

Step 6

Select Close.

Step 7

Verify you are on the Manage Grades page.

Step 8

Scroll to the bottom of the page and locate the Final Calculated Grade, then select the Actions Menu icon.

Step 9

Choose Enter Grades

Step 10

On the page that opens, locate the heading, Final Grade (top), then select the Actions Menu icon.

Step 11

Choose Release All.

Step 12

Select Yes to confirm the action.

Step 13

Select Save and Close.

Note

The Final Grade released icon (open eye icon) will display in the Final Calculated Grade or column. Alternatively, the Final Grade not released icon (eye strikeout icon) displays at all other times.
