Access the Calendar

Option 1

From Course Admin, select Calendar in the list of tools.

Option 2

From the Course Home, locate the Calendar widget, select the actions menu icon, and choose Go to Calendar.

Navigate the Calendar

Step 1

Once on the Calendar, you will find the current month’s calendar to the right. Dates with a dot indicate there is an event on that date. To advance the calendar forward or backward, select the left or right Show arrow on either side of the month.

Step 2

Note

Clicking on a task once input converts the Tasks panel to open up the task to Add a note by typing in the note section and selecting Enter to save the note; changing a due date on a task by selecting within the due date and inputting the updated date and clicking the Save icon (selecting the Delete icon removes the due date from the task) and selecting the Trashcan icon, and then selecting Yes, deletes the entire task.

Step 3

On the left, you will see all events in the calendar for the time period displayed (today & tomorrow; next 7 days; next 14 days). To toggle between time period displays, select the left or right Action buttons to the left of the time period.

Calendar colors are individual to the user and can be useful to distinguish at a glance between different courses’ events.

Step 6

Note

D2L Administrators are unable to provide support outside of D2L. Specific questions about your platform’s calendar should be directed to the appropriate resource. The anticipated sync time between D2L and your other platform can vary: Outlook typically syncs within 24 hours; iOS calendars allow you to control-click the calendar’s name and select Get Info and, from the Auto-refresh pop-up menu, choose an option; testing has shown Google calendars to be more sporadic when left to its own schedule: if you are comfortable working with script, GAS-ICS-Sync-Project Editor-Apps Script (opens in new tab) developed by Derek Antrican contains embedded instructions for placing the script within your Google calendar.
