Add UA Tools to NavBar

Whether it just doesn't exist or it needs updated, here you will learn how to add the most current UA Tools menu to your D2L course Navbar.

The UA Tools menu includes useful links to instructional applications that integrate into D2L, such as Zoom, Panopto, Top Hat, Voicethread, Playposit, etc.

On occasion, tool links within the UA Tools menu get updated or new ones get added. If your D2L course uses the A - Default Course Home Navbar, then it will automatically get the newest updates when changes are made to the UA Tools menu.

If you have customized your course Navbar by making a copy of the default Navbar, then the UA Tools menu will not get updates when new links are added or when existing links change. This is where you would need to delete and add the default and current UA Tools menu. To do this, follow the instructions below.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Within your D2L course, navigate to the end of the Navbar and select the Actions for Navbar button (box with three dots).

Step 2

Select Edit this Navbar.

Step 3

If you previously did not have a UA Tools menu in your Navbar proceed to Step 4.

If you are replacing an old UA Tools menu, under the Links heading navigate to the old UA Tools option and select the X (Remove UA Tools) to remove that link from the Navbar.

Step 4

Select the Add Links button.

Step 5

From the Add Links pop-up window, navigate or scroll through the list to find and select the UA Tools option.

Select the Add button.

Step 6

To change the order of the links, select the link and drag it to a different position in the Navbar list order.

Step 7

Select the Save and Close button.
