Brightspace Updates

Quizzes: Improvements to Quizzes Evaluation

Reviewing quiz attempts just got easier. A new Incorrect filter allows instructors to isolate only incorrect questions in a student’s Quiz Attempt view, making it quicker to identify trends and determine whether updates to questions or instructional materials are needed.

Previously, filters were limited to Pending Evaluation and Retaken questions only.

Additionally, feedback fields for questions will now display on a single line and automatically expand when instructors enter lengthier comments. Previously, feedback fields displayed several lines even when no feedback was entered.

Classlist: Export to CSV Now Available

The Export Classlist button has arrived.

Instructors can now export Classlist details to CSV. The new Export button supports full or partial exports, matching the current Classlist view for offline or administrative use. Printed Classlists now also include pronouns, when visible, and course identifiers for more complete context.

Pulse: Improved Engagement Tracking

Pulse, the Brightspace mobile app, now logs learner engagement events immediately to improve the reliability, timeliness, and consistency of learner activity data. Previously, Pulse events were sent asynchronously, resulting in missing or late engagement tracking data.

Engagement related events in Pulse are now logged immediately. For example, when a learner taps on a course to open it, the course access details are sent to the database in real time.

This update allows Pulse to more accurately reflect how learners are interacting with their courses across platforms.

Awards: More Room, Better Formatting

Brightspace Awards now support longer text fields and preserve formatting, so descriptions, criteria, and evidence display as intended with full context. Increased character limits (up to 1000 in key fields) allow for clearer recognition, without trimming important details or losing line breaks that can help with readability, clarity, and structure.
