What is Honorlock?

Honorlock logo

Honorlock is an online proctoring tool used to administer remote testing. Honorlock is integrated with D2L, making administering exams from the LMS a seamless experience. However, third-party exam administrator websites are also supported by Honorlock. This tool stands out from others for its unique fusion of artificial intelligence (AI) and live proctoring. If an unmistakable violation is detected, a live proctor is alerted, that proctor can then review the flag and intervene in real time to protect the integrity of the exam. Additionally, to maintain the highest level of exam integrity, students are required to auto authenticate before gaining access to the exam. Once the exam session begins, the system's AI vigilantly monitors student's exam session and raises flags for possible violations and/or alerts live proctors. All exam sessions are recorded and made available in the instructor dashboard upon exam completion.

Honorlock is fully automated until necessary making the service completely on demand, therefore, students are not required to schedule appointments. It is also available 24/7 for 365 days of the year, allowing instructors to administer exams at any time. Additionally, Honorlock has a few features that can further assist test integrity. There is Browser Guard (opens in a new tab), a built-in lockdown browser that prevents students from clicking outside of the exam window. Allowed URLs (opens in a new tab) which support Browser Guard by allowing instructors to enter specific internet sources students may access during the exam while blocking all others. Lastly, Honorlock has a Search and Destroy (opens in a new tab) feature, that searches the internet for the exam questions and provides a report on each.
