Create a U of A H5P Author Account
Please Be Aware
Throughout this help page you will notice these green callouts for New Content Experience Instructions. This is a new user interface for the Content section within a Brightspace course. Between now and August 2026 there may be courses that have the current "Classic" content interface or some that are trying out the New Content Experience (NCE). Instructions may be different depending on what user interface your course is using. If your course is not using NCE you can ignore these callouts.
To learn more about NCE, visit the New Content Experience Introduction page. In August 2026, ALL Brightspace courses will be forced into the New Content Experience interface.
You will first need to establish an Author account on U of A’s H5P platform if you haven’t previously created H5P activities on the platform. There are two ways to create an Author account:
- Request an H5P Author Account if you are planning to use H5P activities outside of Brightspace: Contact Us (opens in a new tab).
- Create an H5P Author Account if you are planning to use H5P activities within a Brightspace course.
Create an H5P Author Account within a Brightspace Course
Step 1
Using a web browser, go to U of A’s Brightspace Homepage and log in with your U of A NetID, then select any course. U of A Brightspace Login (opens in a new tab).
Step 2
Select an existing module in Content, or start a new module from the bottom of the Table of Contents.

Select an existing module in Content, or start a new module via the + New Module link at the top of the Content list.
Step 3
Select the Existing Activities button.

Select the Add Existing button.
Step 4
Select H5P from the list of drop-down options.

Select More from the list of drop-down options, then select H5P from the Third Party options.
Selecting H5P passes you through to UA’s H5P platform, and you have successfully established an H5P Author account! Instructors who have completed these steps within a Brightspace course can use the direct link to UA’s H5P platform at https://arizona.h5p.com/ (opens in a new tab).

From this point forward, the smaller window view can be expanded to fullscreen to give you more room to navigate and insert existing activities into your course. For creating new activities or editing existing activities, we recommend going directly to UA’s H5P site at https://arizona.h5p.com/ (opens in a new tab).
