PlayPosit System Requirements & Troubleshooting Guide

Internet Connection

A minimum internet speed of 10 Mbps is recommended for smooth video playback. You can test your speed using SpeedTest (opens in a new tab).

Required Browser Settings

PlayPosit works best with the latest version of Google Chrome. It is also compatible with Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge.

To ensure full functionality in any browser:

  • Enable third-party cookies (disable cross-site tracking)
  • Allow pop-ups

Enable Third-Party Cookies

Chrome

  • Go to chrome://settings/privacy in the URL bar
  • Select Third-party cookies
  • Choose Allow all cookies or Allow third-party cookies

Safari

  • Go to Safari > Settings > Privacy and deselect Prevent cross-site tracking
  • Go to Safari > Settings > Advanced and deselect Block all cookies

Firefox

  • Select the shield icon near the URL
  • Toggle Enhanced Tracking Protection OFF for the site

Edge

  • Go to edge://settings/privacy in the URL bar
  • Under Cookies, select Don’t block cookies

Allow Pop-ups

Chrome

  • Go to chrome://settings/content/popups in the URL bar.
  • Add PlayPosit and D2L Brightspace URLs to the Allow list.

Safari

  • Go to Safari > Settings > Websites > Pop-up Windows
  • Set Allow for PlayPosit and D2L Brightspace sites

Firefox

  • Go to about:preferences#privacy in the URL bar
  • Under Permissions, manage exceptions under Pop-ups

Edge

  • Go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Pop-ups and redirects
  • Add PlayPosit and D2L Brightspace URLs to the Allow list

Web Browser Troubleshooting

Most playback issues are due to browser settings that are resolved by following the recommendations in Required Browser Settings.

Tablet & Phone Troubleshooting

PlayPosit does not have a mobile app. You can view bulbs using the latest version of Chrome or Safari on mobile browsers. For best results, use a computer or laptop, especially when building bulbs.

Adjust Safari settings on iOS:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Safari 
  • Turn OFF the following: Block Pop-ups and Prevent Cross-Site Tracking

Adjust Chrome settings on Android, iPhone, and iPad (opens in a new tab)

Common Issue: Interaction Questions Not Appearing

If interaction questions are missing in a PlayPosit bulb, follow the recommendations below.

First, check your required browser settings

  • Enable cookies (disable cross-site tracking)
  • Allow pop-ups

If the PlayPosit interface is available

You can try switching the video source:

  • Select the Settings (gear icon) in the video scrub bar
  • Under Video, select Panopto
  • In the drop-down menu, change Source 2 to MP4

If a Panopto error message appears

Log into Panopto in a separate tab before viewing the bulb:

  • In your Brightspace course, select UA Tools > Panopto from the course nav bar
  • Return to the course, refresh the page, and try viewing the bulb again
