Record a Panopto Video

There are two options to record video, audio, or your screen with Panopto. You may utilize what is called the Panopto Recorder, which requires a software download and install to your computer, or Panopto Capture, which is a recording interface all within your web browser. Regardless of which option you choose, you will access it the same way.

Access Panopto Recording Options

Step 1

Navigate and sign in to Panopto (Learn how at Access Panopto).

Step 2

Select the Create button.

Step 3

You should find the following options:

• Panopto for Windows or Panopto for Mac - Record in the Panopto Recorder application (requires download and install).
• Panopto Capture - Record directly in the browser.

Record with Panopto Recorder (Software Install Required)

Download and Install the Panopto Recorder

You first will need to download and install the Panopto Recorder software. Please refer to the Install Panopto Recorder help page for download and installation instructions.

Once you have installed the software on your computer you should be ready to record.

Record with Panopto Capture (No Software Install Required)

Panopto Capture allows a user to easily record audio, video, and screens or applications. A user can access Panopto Capture directly within their browser instead of downloading the desktop application.
