Add a FeedbackFruits Activity to Brightspace

Overview

You can access FeedbackFruits from the Existing Activities menu within a course Content module.

Depending on your past experience/use of FeedbackFruits, the FeedbackFruits Tool Picker page will appear one of the following ways:

New User with no templates or previous activity

You'll have icons along the left-side navigation for Home, My library, Start from scratch, and Learning Design Community. In the middle of the screen you will also have larger icons for Start from scratch and Learning Design Community.

Previous user with items in template library

You'll have icons along the left-side navigation for Home, Institutional library, My library, Past activities, Start from scratch, and Learning Design Community. In the middle of the screen you will also have icons for My library, Institutional libraries, Past activities, Start from scratch, and Learning Design Community.

1. Home screen (the home screen is pictured in the images above)
2. Institutional Library (library that can contain institution-wide content)
3. My Library (your personal library for templates and learning journeys)
4. Past Activities (a list of FeedbackFruits content you've created in the past)
5. Start from Scratch (build a FeedbackFruits assignment and insert into the Brightspace course after configuration)
6. Learning Design community (a worldwide library of various templates and rubrics)

Insert Templates from My Library

If you have templates already saved in your My Library, you can quickly insert them into a Brightspace course. When inserting a template into a Brightspace course, FeedbackFruits creates a copy of the template, detaching it from the template, so that changes made to that instance of the deployment will not affect the template saved in My Library.

Step 1

From the FeedbackFruits home screen, select the My Library button and then select the template you want to use in your course.

FeedbackFruits will make a copy from that template as its own activity instance that is unique to the course and open it in the editor. From there, you can make changes to your FeedbackFruits activity, and the changes will only be reflected in the copied instance of the activity that gets sent to Brightspace. Your changes will not be reflected in the original template.

Step 2

Select the template you wish to insert and select COPY AND EDIT to open the editor to make necessary adjustments to the activity.

Step 3

Depending on the configuration in your template, you may need to use the setup button to add deadlines and groups. If you do not wish to adjust those settings yet, select the SETUP button, and select the NEXT button in the top right without changing any settings. Otherwise, configure the various deadlines and/or group selections.

Step 4

Select EDIT to make any necessary changes, including the title of the activity, then select SAVE to publish that activity to the Brightspace course.

Start From Scratch

You don't have to use a template, you can build FeedbackFruits activities entirely from scratch and insert it into your course.

Step 1

Select the Start from Scratch button on the home screen.

Step 2

You will then be presented with a menu of all FeedbackFruits tools or activity types. Select the tool you wish to configure for your activity.

Step 3

Select COPY AND EDIT to open the editor to make necessary adjustments to the activity.

Step 4

When you are finished with editing the activity and ready to insert it into the course, select the SAVE button.
