Navigating New Content Experience
Enable New Content Experience via Toggle
Note
The New Content Experience toggle enables instructors to switch between the original Classic Content and the New Content Experience.
When enabled, NCE is the view for all users in the site; when disabled, Classic Content is the view for all users in the site.
Important
The NCE toggle is enabled only for users with an Instructor role in the site. For instructions on how to change a user's role, please see Classlist Roles (opens in new tab). The NCE toggle is available until August 17, 2026. At that time, all Brightspace sites will use NCE.
Step 1
From Content, select the Action Menu icon under the NavBar to the right.
Step 2
To enable NCE, select Turn it on.
Step 4
To hide the action menu, select the Action Menu icon.
Disable the New Content Experience via Toggle
Step 1
From Content, select the Action Menu icon under the NavBar to the right.
Step 2
To disable NCE, select Turn it off.
Note
Brightspace prompts a short voluntary survey when disabling NCE. You can participate or select Done to close the survey without participating.
Step 4
To hide the action menu, select the Action Menu icon.
Note
The NCE toggle menu is open by default when the course site is not set to NCE and the user has not selected either Turn it on or Turn it off. The menu will stay collapsed once a selection is made one time. The menu is still accessible by selecting the Action Menu icon.
NCE Landing Page
Upon selecting Content in the NavBar, users immediately land on the first module in Content. This is the case even if they've visited that module earlier. The InTech Team advises using a module to help orient users when they open Content.
