Edit Content Overview
Note
New Content Experience does not make use of Content Overview which was a feature in Classic Content. However, if a source site with a Content Overview is copied into a destination site in which NCE is used, the Content Overview displays & is the page that users will land on when selecting Content in the NavBar.
Step 1
Ensure there is a Content Overview in NCE by checking the Table of Contents to see if Overview is present.
Step 2
Select onto the text of the overview in the right panel; the field should turn light blue as you hover.
Step 3
In the HTML box that opens, make your edits.
Step 4
Select Update when finished.
Step 5 (optional)
To add a file, select Add Attachment and then drag & drop the file into the upload box.
Reorder Modules & Submodules
Step 1
Select the desired module or submodule so that the block is highlighted and an eight-dot icon appears on the left side.
Step 2A
On the left side of the desired module, select on the eight-dot icon two times: the first turns the background grey and the second toggles the up and down icon; select the applicable arrow to correspond with the direction you desire to take the module or submodule.
Step 2B
Select onto the eight-dot icon and drag-and-drop the module or submodule where you'd like to place it; a blue line appears indicating where the module or submodule will be placed.
Note
Drag-and-drop can be touch-sensitive. Press and hold your cursor select without letting go as you drag your cursor until you see the blue line where you desire to place the module or submodule.
Control Module, Submodule or Topic Visibility
Step 1
From the desired module or submodule, locate the visibility switch at the top of the page in the center; toggle between hidden or visible to control the module or submodule visibility.
Note
Students are not able to see hidden modules or submodules.
Preview as a Student
Step 1
From Content, select the gear icon above the Table of Contents (located to the right of + New Module icon).
Step 2
You are now previewing Content as if you were a student enrolled in your course.
Note
Preview as Student is limited in its function.
Note
View as Student still exists, accessed by selecting your name in the upper-right and choosing View as Student. However, this view is limited in utility: Content can be viewed, provided there are no restrictions preventing its release.
Step 3
To exit Preview as a Student view, select any item in the NavBar.
