Inserting Panopto Videos as a Page
Note
The workflow below is the recommended way to provide access to a Panopto video. Pasting a URL/link to the video does not allow NetID authentication, blocking student access. This workflow ensures students can access the video.
Step 1
From Content, select the module or submodule where you desire to place the Panopto video and select Create New.
Step 2
Select Page.
Step 3
Insert a name for the page.

Step 4
Under Page Content, use the HTML editor to select the Insert Stuff icon.
Step 5
On the Insert Stuff menu, select Panopto.
Note
By default, Panopto opens the course's Panopto folder. If your video lives in another folder, use the dropdown list to select it.

Select Add Release Condition if you wish to restrict the page's release to users who have satisfied given criteria; see Release Conditions (opens in new tab) for instructions on how to input Release Conditions.

Embed Video as a Page
Note
You can embed a video from YouTube or another platform into a Brightspace page. Instructors are responsible for ensuring adherence to all copyright laws. Also note: it is advisable to check all links for playback and to ensure they're live, especially when copying a course site with embedded videos as pages into another course site.
Step 1
Follow the steps for Creating a Webpage (opens in new tab), adding in the following steps to the workflow.
Step 2
Locate and copy the embed code for the desired video. Use these instructions for locating an embed code for a YouTube video (opens in new tab).
Important
Many embed codes aren't responsive. When played on a small screen (e.g., phone) the video does not resize. If you want your video to work on all devices, copy your embed code, go to iFramely (opens in a new tab) and paste it into the box. Select Embed Now button and then copy the resulting code.
Step 3
Under Page Content, select the Insert Stuff icon.
Step 4
Select Embed Code.
Step 5
Paste the embed code into the source code window and select Next.
Step 6
View the preview and, when satisfied, select Insert.
Step 7
Finish setup as detailed in the above referenced article.
Step 8
Select Save and Close when finished.

Select Add Video Note.

When done, select Stop Recording.
Step 6
Select Next.
Step 7
Insert a title for your recording, enter a description, select the audio language in the dropdown and then select the checkbox for Automatically generate captions from audio.
Note
Auto-generated captions may contain errors. It is advisable to verify the captions and, if errors are present, Edit Video Note Captions (opens in new window).

Note
File processing is not instantaneous. It is ok to select Insert while the notice of video processing appears.
Step 9
