New Content Experience: Try it Now with Toggle On

The New Content Experience (NCE) is ready when you are. It can now be toggled on or off in a course site. When enabled, NCE becomes the content view for everyone in the course; when turned off, the course returns to Classic Content.

Select Turn it on to enable NCE
Select Turn it off, then Done (optional survey), to return to Classic
Select the Action Menu icon again to hide the menu

To activate the toggle and switch views, go to Content and select the Action Menu icon in the top right (under the navbar):

Remember, stay calm and toggle on. The toggle will be available through August 17. After that, all Brightspace courses will use NCE by default.

Assignment Submission Layout

A cleaner Assignments Submissions page is here. Updated layouts in standard and wide views reduce horizontal scrolling and make key information, like learner names and submission dates, easier to review.

Accessibility improvements remain in place, supporting a more consistent experience.

Improved Import Options in Question Library

Importing questions to the Question Library just got easier. Updates to Browse Question Library improve consistency and make import actions more visible.

Quizzes without sections now use a single Import button, while quizzes with sections include a dedicated Import to Section option.

Integrated Technologies Updates

YuJa Panorama with SmartSpeaker

Notice something new? YuJa Panorama (opens in new tab) now includes SmartSpeaker text-to-speech. Look for the SmartSpeaker icon (speaker inside a lightbulb with sound waves).

With SmartSpeaker, students can listen to course content, follow along with highlighted text, adjust voice and speed, or generate a quick summary. SmartSpeaker supports flexible access to materials and helps streamline review and comprehension.

WeVideo is the New Playposit

PlayPosit has entered its WeVideo era. Following its acquisition by WeVideo, PlayPosit has transitioned to WeVideo Interactivity. This update introduced a new name, refreshed interface, and backend improvements, while preserving existing content and workflows. The University of Arizona completed the platform migration during the week of May 18, 2026.
