Create a VoiceThread

Instructional Steps

Step 1

Navigate to University of Arizona VoiceThread (opens in a new tab).

Step 2

Select Sign in from the VoiceThread Homepage navbar.

Step 3

Log in with NetID and password if necessary.

Step 4

Select Create a new VoiceThread  from the VoiceThread navbar.

Step 5

Select the appropriate source from the menu to upload media, or drag and drop files onto the browser window.

The menu options include:

  • Add from computer (browse your computer's files and select a file to upload to the presentation)
  • Record a Video Slide (create a slide using a video taken with your webcam)
  • Copy from a VoiceThread (choose to import slides from already-created VoiceThreads)
  • External Source (import media from Flickr or Google Drive)
  • Enter a URL (create a video slide using a URL from sources like YouTube)
  • Take a Picture (create a slide using a picture taken with your webcam)
  • Record audio slide (create a slide using a audio taken with your webcam or microphone)

Step 6

Once you have inserted your first slide, a gallery view will open showing the thumbnail image of the first slide. From this screen, you can select from the following options:

  • Open this VoiceThread (Open the VoiceThread in order to interact and make comments)
  • Share (Share the VoiceThread to your Contacts, Groups, or Courses, get an embed code, or export the VoiceThread)
  • Add Media (Add more slides to your VoiceThread)
  • Settings (Open the VoiceThread Thread Settings menu)

  • You can also select the three-dot collapsible menu on the slide to rename, download, or delete a slide.

Step 7

Once you have finished naming slides, adding slides and comments, and shared the VoiceThread with the appropriate groups, you're done! The VoiceThread will self-save and be located on your VoiceThread Home Page.
