Delete Discussion Forums and Topics

You can delete everything on the Discussions List at once or choose specific Forums or Topics to delete.

Step 1

Select More Actions and choose Delete.

Step 2a

To delete all Forums and Topics, check the box to the left of Select All.

Step 2b

To delete a specific Forum and all the Topics within, check the box to the left of the Forum name.

Step 2c

To delete individual Topics, only check the box to the left of the Topic name.

Step 3

When you have chosen all the Discussion items you wish to delete, select the Delete button at the bottom of the page.

Restore Discussion Forums and Topics

The good news is: if you have deleted Discussion Forums or Topics, you can restore them to their original state, including all posts and scores if assessed through Assess Topic.

Step 1

Select More Actions and choose Restore.

Step 2

Select Restore in the Action column to the right of the Forum or Topic you want to restore.

Step 3a

If you restore a single Topic whose Forum still exists on the Discussions List, you will see a message asking you to confirm you want to restore. Click the Restore button to restore the Topic.

Step 3b

If you are restoring a Topic whose parent Forum does not exist, you will see a message that explains you must also restore the Forum in which it was created. Select Restore Topic and Forum to restore the Topic and its parent Forum.

Step 3c

If you are restoring a Forum, a Restore Topics window will appear where you will be given the option to restore any Topics contained within that Forum. In this case, make sure each Topic you would like to restore has a checkmark next to it, then click the Restore button to restore the Forum and any selected Topics contained within.
